He was predeceased by: his siblings, Bernard, James, Sterling, Donald and Kathleen "Kay" Belmore.
He is survived by: his parents, Beulah Hughes and Bernard Hughes (Ben); his wife Betty; his children, Beth Lawson (Gary) of Rothesay, NB, Catherine Beckingham (Grant) of Norton, NB, James Hughes (Michelle) and John Hughes (Melanie) of Rothesay, NB; his grandchildren, Sarah Birch (Dana), Ginny Ward (Mark), Kate Robinson (Stephen) and Michael Lawson; and his pet Ashley Hewlett (Wade). He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
