She was predeceased by: her husband John Sweet; and her brothers-in-law, Douglas Murray and James Rolfe. She is survived by: her children, Stacey Sweet (Bill McKinney) and Troy Sweet (Sabrina); her grandchildren, Casey and Oliver Sweet; her siblings, Kathleen Rolfe, Marjorie Murray, Florence Ellis (Ronald), Margaret Scott (Michael), John Raynes (Barb), Benjamin Raynes, Dennis "Bright" Raynes (Sherry), Donald "Buck" Raynes (Holly) and Ronald Raynes; and also Joan. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Donations in memory of Joan may be given to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Saint John SPCA.
