He was predeceased by: his wife Lucy; his daughter Sharon; his granddaughters, Cindy and Lisa; and his sisters, Doris, Marge and Lois.
He is survived by: his children, Terry (Gail), Port Elgin, John (Linda), Baie Verte, Michael (Jeannie) and Erin Fairweather (Keith) of Port Elgin, ON. He is also survived by six grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
