He was predeceased by: his parent John "Jack"; his wife Elaine; his son Jay; and his siblings, Lawrence "Brud" and Peggy MacKenzie.

He is survived by: his parent Kathleen "Kit" Garland; his daughter Jauna Garland; his granddaughters, Jaime Quigley and Emily Quigley; and his son Michael Quigley.
