It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Thorne (Petitcodiac, New Brunswick), born in Canaan Forks, New Brunswick, who passed away on October 4, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Cyril Paterson and Greta Paterson (Tingley); her husband Otty; her son Dean; her son-in-law Raymond Marsden; her brothers, Ronald, Victor and Reginald Paterson; and her brothers-in-law, Clair Wallace, Everett Keith and Al Histead.

She is survived by: her children, Loris Marsden (Wayne Smith), Pat Robinson (Mac), Karen James (Reg Renton), Candace Arsenault, Terry, Rodney (Donna Gibbs) and Ronald; her daughter-in-law Phyllis Thorne-Calvert; her siblings, Dr. Malcolm Paterson (Sandi), Elsie Wallace, Shirley Keith and Joyce Histead; and her sisters-in-law, Lois Paterson and Ena Thorne. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
