He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Jones and Hattie Muriel Jones (McAllister); his significant other Helen Tayes; his sons, Fred Jr. and Tom; and his siblings, Allison, Florence, Shirley and Dora.

He is survived by: his son Franklin (Wendi); his grandchildren, Alexander and Nikole; his great grandchild Shelly Bradsell (Thomas Jr.); his granddaughters, Tara Dowd and Tamara Bustard; his great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Bradley, Brayden and Wiley; and his sisters, Gladys Wilson, Georgie Knight and Barbara Seely. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
