It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Meretta Jane Alberta Mowatt of Oromocto, New Brunswick, born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, who passed away at the age of 89, on September 14, 2020. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elzie and Greta Howe (Harrison); her son Benjamin Cogswell; her stepson Timothy Mowatt; her husband Rev. Worden Mowatt; her brothers, William Howe, Leon Howe and Edward Howe; and her brothers-in-law, Donald Levison and Ronald Carr.
She is survived by: her children, Melda Carr (Percy) of Oromocto, NB, Brenda Mallet (Ovilda) of Maple Grove, NB, Milton Cogswell of Fredericton, NB, Karen Shears of Oromocto, NB and Lucha Chater (Chris) of Victoria, BC; and her siblings, Elva Carr, Leila Levison, Violet Cummings, Eleanor Fidler, Lena Mitchel, Greta Carr, Everett Howe, Richard Howe and Elzie Howe Jr.. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will take place at the Geary Pentecostal Church on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 2:00 pm by invitation only due to Covid-19 restrictions.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Alberta's name to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Canada, or The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
