She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Gallant and Celeste Gallant (Mazerolle); her husband Michael O'Keeffe Nowlan; and her brother Gerald Gallant. She is survived by: her children, Gregory Nowlan (Katherine Turner) of Scarborough, ON, Mary Nowlan of Scarborough, ON, Theresa Suart (John) of Kingston, ON, James Nowlan of Fredericton, NB and Peter Nowlan of Oromocto, NB; her grandchildren, Celeste Suart, Hamilton, Michael Suart of Kingston, ON, Matthew and Brandon Nowlan of Fredericton, NB; her stepgrandchildren, Emma Turner (Brian Jobling) of Burlington, ON and Ted Turner (Carla Brewer) of Scarborough, ON; and her sister Clara Gallant (Blaine Farrah). She is also survived by her sisters-in law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
Gertrude had asked that donations in her name go to a charity of the donor's choice.
