He was predeceased by: his parents, George Patterson and Loretta Patterson (Purcell); and his siblings, Hazel, Douglas, Mary (Pat), Alice, Bertram, Margaret, Robert and Kathleen.

He is survived by: his wife Doris Patterson (McLean); his children, Debra Patterson of Oromocto, NB, Doug Patterson (Marie-Claire) of Ontario, Carol (Patterson), Oram (Ronnie) of Hoyt, NB, Linda Patterson (Scott Sansom) of Dartmouth, NS and Mark Patterson (Tobi) of Ontario; his grandchildren, Kevin, Kelly, Jessica, Kari-Ann, Michael, Amanda, Chrissy, Sarah, Jennifer, Nakita, Cora and Gina; and his great grandchildren, Blake, Bryson, Hayden, Mikaella, Nicholas, Emma, Meredith, Brandon and Alexis. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.

For those who wish, memorial tributes in George's honour may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
