He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Whalen and Vida Edna Whalen (Stewart); his granddaughter Jennifer Drummond; and his brothers, Robert (Jeannie), Charles Whalen and Paul Justason.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Lycreta Whalen; his daughter Dolores Drummond (Albert); his stepdaughter Wanda Tucker (Rex); his grandson Geoffrey Drummond; his stepgrandchildren, Eric Tucker and Catherine Tucker; his sister Beverly Justason; and his sister-in-law Carolyn Whalen. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
