He was predeceased by: his father Gerald Hannan. He is survived by: his mother Vicky Hannan (Chamberlain); his children, Chris (Christine) of Moncton, NB and Melanie (Kevin) of Amherst, NS.; his grandchildren, Jordan, Megan, Shelby, Mitchell and Nova; his siblings, Marc Hannan (Lisa), Linda Chamberlain (Everett Melanson), Mary Farrell (Melvin), Sharon Gallant (Richard), Gail Hannan (Gilles Couture), Wanda Hannan Levesque (Mike), Dorothy Boudreau (Michel), Barbara Reardon (Eric), Lorraine Hannan (Marc LeBlanc) and Joan Marquis (Glen); and his mother-in-law Cecile Young (late Vernon Young) of Bathurst.

Due to the pandemic, a private family service will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Rosary Church.

Donations in memory of John may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
