He was predeceased by: his parents, Gunnar Andersen and Martha Andersen (Karlsen); and his siblings, Gerold, Gunnar Jr., Raider, Lina, Randi, Pearl, Gloria and Tula.

He is survived by: his close friend Joan Copp of Plaster Rock, NB; his children, Jana Andersen of Fredericton, NB, Robin Andersen (Rejean Desjardins) of Moncton, NB and James Andersen of Toronto, ON; his grandchildren, Andrew, Austin, Elizabeth, Elise (Nathan), Richard and Mark; and his sister Sonja Taylor of Saint John, NB. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
