He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gemmell and Allie Gemmell (Crawley); his sisters, Joan Burton (Bob), Alice Gibson and Judith; and his sister-in-law Mary Lou Gemmell.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Gemmell (Daly); his sons, Mike (Kelly) of Douglas, James (Jennifer) of Ottawa and Rob (Britany) of New Maryland; his grandchildren, Morrigan, Patrick, Peter and Portia; his siblings, William of Sudbury and Karen Wilson (Jerry) of Ottawa; and his brother-in-law Frank Gibson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
