He was predeceased by: his parents, Doris Savoie and Clara Savoie; his stepparent Mathilde Haché-Breau (Savoie); and his siblings, Irene Rousselle (Albert), Melinda McGrath (Stanley), Joseph, Emile, Raymond (Colleen) of Saint-John, Irvin, Emery, Leandre (Leonida) and Lucien (Adela).

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Glaspy; his children, Donna Carpenter (Kevin) of Saint John, Karen Buckley Robichaud (Stéphane) of Moncton, Daniel Savoie (Brenda) of Neguac, Joanne Walton (Sean) of Martensville, SK and Robert Savoie (Tammy) of Sackville; his grandchildren, Jason (Bree), Melissa, Caitlyn (Alex), Ashley (Justin), Chelsea (Luke), Megan, Conrad and Devon; his pet Holly; and his sisters-in-law, Jeannette Leroy, Françoise (late Irvin) and Louise (late Emery). He is also survived by several nephews, nieces and cousins.
