He was predeceased by: his wife Annette Dignard (Roussell); his parents, Georges Dignard and Celina Dignard (Vienneau); and his siblings, Clarence, Andre, Simon, Albenie, Ludger Dignard, Melanie Racine and Delcia Robichaud.

He is survived by: his children, Denis Poirier (Tammy), Wilfred Poirier (Delores), Gilles (Emma), Ginette, Pierre (Liette) and Nicole (Bernard); his stepdaughters, Jocelyn Duffield, Jeannie Morgan (Jeff) and Joanne Poirier (Gerald Richard); and his siblings, Lazare Dignard (Georgette), Simone Benoit and Jeanette Breau (Gerald). He is also survived by several grandchildren.
