It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Eldon MacDiarmid of Napan, New Brunswick, who passed away on January 14, 2021, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William MacDiarmid and Agnes MacDiarmid (Lockerbie); his brother John MacDiarmid; his brothers-in-law, Keith Traer and Clayton Mahoney; and his nephews, Buddy MacDiarmid and Michael Houck.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth MacDiarmid (Betty Mahoney); his daughter Carrie Lynn; his son-in-law Adam MacDonald; his grandchildren, Sandi Mae and Tyron James; his pet Bella; his sister Willa Traer of Fredericton; and his siblings-in-law, Helen MacDiarmid of Napan, Jane Houck (Mervyn) of Russellville Road and Burton Mahoney (Esther) of Russellville Road.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a PUBLIC visitation at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, and a PRIVATE family funeral service to be officiated by The Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight at St. Andrew's United Church, 188 Wellington St., Miramichi, will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Andrew's United Church, NB Extra-Mural, or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
