We are sad to announce that on February 14, 2023, at the age of 89, Vernon Harold Corey (Nackawic, New Brunswick), born in Bear Island, New Brunswick passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Corey and Hazel Corey (Sharpe); his former wife Myrtle Corey (Miner); his siblings, Alex (late Lucy), George, Eugene (late Betty), Lloyd Corey, Violet Keetch (late Wendall), Florence Cleghorn (late Jack), Helen O'Neill and Lilly Maude; his siblings-in-law, Gail Corey, Rosalie Stairs, Merlin Stairs, Neil McVicar and Wendell Stairs; and his stepsons, George Trail and Gary Trail.
He is survived by: his wife Stella Corey (Stairs-Trail); his stepchildren, Joyce Myshrall (Dennis), Barb Baubinas (Algis), Sharon Fowler (David), Bonita Trail (Greg Bell), Stephen Trail (Marylou) and Marlene Campbell (Todd); his stepdaughter-in-law Florence Hanson; his siblings, Ed Corey (Verna), Frank Corey (Marion), Leo Corey, Lee Aguis and Christina LeMoine (Ray); and his siblings-in-law, Allen O'Neill, Neil Stairs, Jean McVicar, Bernita Stairs, Carol Drost (Ivan), Charlotte Corey and Harriet Stairs. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that donations made to the Bear Island Cemetery or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
