She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Curtis and Cora Curtis (Sturgeon); her husband Bert Messer; and her siblings, Aubrey Curtis (Lois), Thelma Johnston (Paul), Hulda Sullivan (Basil), Vera Curtis (Marshall), Ashley Curtis (Margaret) and Vella Messer (Phillip).
She is survived by: her children, Chris Messer (Teresa), Curtis Messer, Creena Messer (Chris) and Aaron Messer (Tracey); her grandchildren, John Messer, Alyssa Messer, Morgan Wood, Mackenzie Messer, Gabriel Messer and Haley Messer; her great grandchild Ava; and her siblings, Wilson Curtis (Susie), Olive Hart (Earl) and Kay Curtis (Gayle). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
