She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvard Jackson and Edna Mae Jackson; her husband Carl Atkinson; and her siblings, Elaine, Robert, Donald, Frederick and Richard.

She is survived by: her sister Elinor McGinley; her children, Kimberly Atkinson, Patricia Anderson (Roy), Peter Atkinson, Kristine McGuire (Troy Iutzi), Kristopher Atkinson and Elissa Atkinson; her grandchildren, David Anderson, Laura Anderson, Rachel Atkinson and Julian McGuire; and her great grandchildren, Annaka, Lillianna Anderson, Arlo, Beau and Cash Nixon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the James McGibbon Memorial Hall c/o Moores Mills Community Club, Charlotte County Cancer Society and the Alzheimer's Society.
