He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Kinnie and Agnes Kinnie (Paisley); his wife Shirley; and his siblings, Ronald, Marion and Mildred.

He is survived by: his siblings, Betty Cook and Leonard Kinnie; his children, Karen Balser (Doug) and Dale Kinnie (Marie-Stella); his grandchildren, Brittany (Matthew) and Adam (Chelsey); and his great grandchild Hollis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
