She was predeceased by: her husband Andrew Scott; her son Scotty Wheaton; her daughter-in-law Liz Wheaton; her sibling Allison Chase; and also Allen Barron.

She is survived by: her children, Terry Wheaton (Judy) and Nancy Wheaton (Art Bateman); her grandchildren, David Wheaton (Laura MacDonald), Mark Wheaton (Julie Sclapari), Tiffany Bateman (John Terris), Jordan Bateman (Rosie Roberts) and Brooke Wheaton-LeBlanc (Florent LeBlanc); her great grandchildren, Luka Poitras, Dorothy Wheaton, Montgomery Wheaton, Knox Terris and Julia Terris; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Chloe LeBlanc and Malec LeBlanc; her sister-in-law Winona Barron; and also, Susan Klem (Bob) and David Chase (Rita).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Greater Moncton, or Fulfilling Hearts Rescue, as animals always brightened Shirl's day or to the charity of the donor's choice.
