He was predeceased by: his parent Brenton Smith; his wife Joan Smith (Raworth); and his siblings, Harley, Everett, Lawson, Stuart, Fred, Floyd, Adolphus, Ethel, Hilda, Jessie, Eva, Laura and Dorothy.

He is survived by: his parent Elizabeth Smith (Pugsley); his son Terence (Janice); his granddaughter Isabel; his brother Lloyd; and his sister-in-law Sandra Jones (Allan). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
