He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Smith and Dora Smith (Wilson); his wife Jean Smith; and his brothers, Gerald and Clifford.

He is survived by: his children, Wendy White (Paul), Greg Smith (Colombe), Kim Smith (Cathy), Mark Smith (late Debbi) and Brian Smith (Melody); his grandchildren, Anthony Smith (Lyndsay), Jessica Hansen (Nick), Nicholas Smith, Elizabeth Smith (Martin), Kaitlin Smith (Andre) and Evan Smith; and his great grandchildren, Sadie, Oliver, Brooklyn, Kaitlyn, Adelyn and Jonah. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.
