He was predeceased by: his parents, Calixte Martin and Bernadette Martin (Vautour); his son Jean-Pierre; his siblings, Néri, Ronald and Jeanne-Eva; and his brother-in-law Daryl Fillmore.

He is survived by: his significant other Calvin Collicutt; his daughter Sylvie McDonald (Ricky); his grandchildren, Brandon (Emilie McGrath), Tania (Aiven Tynaliev) and Adrian; his great grandchildren, Skyllar, Paisley and Mason; his siblings, Laura Daigle (Gerald), Rose-Ella Fillmore, Nicole Johnson (Rony), Bernice Tucker (Chuck) and Stéphane Martin (Tammy); and his brother-in-law David Sullivan.
