He is survived by: his parents, Karl Johnson and Gail Johnson (Thomson); his children, Michael "Mike" and Brittney Johnson; his sister Tanya DeCoste (Chris); his nephew Jarod DeCoste; his niece Megan DeCoste; and the mother of his children Jacquelyn Campbell.

There will be a graveside service held at Oromocto Pioneer Gardens on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at 11 am by invitation only, due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
