She was predeceased by: her husband Wally Dykeman; and her siblings, Margarite Kane, Marion Kane and Frank Black. She is survived by: her sons, Floyd and Herman; her grandchildren, Monica, Sarah, Gillian, Ryan, Colin and Erin; her sister Helen Johnson; and her sister-in-law Zella Gilmore. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's memory can be made to the First United Church, Bathurst or a memorial of the donor's choice.
