He was predeceased by: his parents, T. Donald Estabrooks and G. Dorothy Estabrooks (Hunt); and his son-in-law Ian Gallagher. He is survived by: his wife Claire (McKnight); his children, Don Estabrooks (Tracey) and Kate Canning (Bill); his grandchildren, Sarah Estabrooks, Chris Estabrooks, Emma Gallagher and Alec Calford; his great grandchild Anna MacFarlane; and his sister Judith Streeter.

Donations made to the New Brunswick Heart Centre at The Saint John Regional Hospital or to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Requested Charity New Brunswick Heart Centre or Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation.

“My condolences, I worked at the Fredericton Golf Club in the mid-seventies and I caddied for John. Drop the ball on the tee and hit a 3 wood, cigar in mouth and down the middle. I also had an opportunity to caddy for him in Charlottetown and Saint John, I was also a neighbor of his good friend Doug Brewer. I last saw John in the early 80's at the Canadian Open in the scorers tent, I believe it was one of years Nick price won. My thoughts and prayers are with you.”
