He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett McDermott and Doris McDermott; and his siblings, Lorne, Jack, Sheila and Sylvia.
He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Kevin, Tammy and Cindy (Vance); his grandchildren, Chris, Jane, Sarah, Carly, Hannah and Kai; and his sister Bernadette. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
