She was predeceased by: her parent Alonzo Colpitts; her husband Clarence Briggs; her great grandchild Christopher; and her sister Alice. She is survived by: her parent Susan Colpitts (Kelly); her children, Nellie Simpson (Bill) of Moncton, Cecil (Lila) of Stilesville and Lea (Viva) of Steeves Mountain; and her grandchildren, Laurie Trites, Peter Briggs, Andrea MacNeill (Al), Sandy Belliveau (Mark), Darren Dillenbeck (Michelle), Pam Simpson (Lee Dixon), Brian Simpson (Bana), Kimberly Campbell (Dave), Tracey Douglas (Ian), Greg Wilson (Brian), David Briggs (Sherry), Jason Briggs (Kim) and Tricia Koenig (Christian). She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews.
