She was predeceased by: her parents, Dosithée Bourgeois and Euphémie Bastarache; her husband James Melanson; and her siblings, Lorraine, Ella, Jeannette, Gerry, Armand, Lionel, Raymond, Blair and Paul.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Lavoie (Pierre), Michael Melanson (Gisèle) and Mark Melanson; her grandchildren, Julie Lavoie, Mathieu Lavoie, Melanie Wilson, Monica Melanson, Margo Melanson and Marcel Melanson; and her great grandchildren, Maëlle, Caleb, Catherine, Etienne and Laurence. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre (88 Church St, Moncton, NB E1C4Z5). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church (43 Botsford St, Moncton, NB E1C4W9).
