He was predeceased by: his parents, Norbert Sweeney and Ida Sweeney (Vienneau); and his brother Tom Sweeney. He is survived by: his daughters, Cheryl Robichaud (Emery) of Moncton and Linda Sweeney (Joshua Reynolds) of Dieppe; his brother Patrick Sweeney (Patricia) of Moncton; his grandsons, Nicholas Robichaud (Chantal Mason) and Cody Robichaud; and his nephew Chad Gautreau.

Donations in Gerald's memory made to the Diabetic Association would be appreciated by the family.
