He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Phillips and Minnie Phillips (Hills); his wife Anita Phillips; his brothers, Donnie and Guy; and his sister-in-law Virginia.

He is survived by: his son David Phillips (Michele) of Riverview; his brothers, George Phillips (Cathy) and Ben Phillips; and his sister-in-law Marlene Phillips of Harvey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
