He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Harold, Leota Hanson, Ira and Alice Hamilton; and his stepmother Lynn Hanson.

He is survived by: his parents, James Hanson and Iris Thompson; his close friend Derrick German; his stepfather Robert Thompson; his brothers, Kyle Hanson (Alicia McLaughlin), Chris Hanson (Fay) and Mark Hanson (Sandra); his nephews, William, Samuel, Henry and Thomas; his niece Ashley; and his pet Pepper.
