She was predeceased by: her parents, Allan Edgett and Helena Edgett (Somerville); her husband Clarence Lawson; and her close friend Joseph Robinson. She is survived by: her son Wayne Power (Frances Coster) of Shannon, N. B..

Sadly missed by family and friends, Dorothy has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital (friendsfoundation.ca) or the charity of the donor's choice.

“Dorothy Power Lawson was a distant cousin of mine. Her grandmother, Hattie (Case) Somerville was a half-sister of my grandmother, Lottie (Case) Stanley. My husband, Bill, and I visited your mother twice in 2016 and 2017 at the Moncton People's Park Tower. Dorothy welcomed us heartily each time and we had delightful tuna fish sandwiches with her. She regaled us with stories of her wonderful career and life. My condolences to her son, Wayne, and his partner. Linda Stanley Lucas, Kennebunk, ME”
