He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Vail and Viola Vail (Ferris); and his siblings, Harold, Ralph, Robert, Winslow and Audrey.
He is survived by: his children, Kristina Smith (Brent) and James Vail; his brothers, Walter (Elinor) of Connecticut and Lloyd (Rosemary) of New York; his sister-in-law Nancy Vail; and his grandchildren, Jessica (Jared), Matthew (Lauren), Nicholas, Cody (Ashley) and Tori (Stephen). He is also survived by seven great grandchildren; and his many nieces and nephews.
In Donald's memory a donation may be made to the Arthritis Society or to a charity of donor's choice.
