He was predeceased by: his mother Brenda Powers (Brassett). He is survived by: his father Gilbert "Gil" Powers; his brother Gary Powers (Margaret); and his close friend Carolyn Melanson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
