He was predeceased by: his parents, Nellas Payson and Claire Amelia Payson (Godin). He is survived by: his wife Dorothy A. Payson of Miramichi; his children, Bonnie Heatherington (Kim) of Milton, ON and William Jr. Payson of Edmundston; his sister Priscillia Payson; and his grandchildren, Thomas, Rachel, Amanda and Colin. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren.
