He was predeceased by: his wife Doreen Matchett (Gifford); his parents, Irving Matchett and Gurnetta Matchett (MacDonald); his sons, Herbie and Cecil; and his siblings, Joyce, Nancy, Clinton, Glen, Mervin, Bev, Vick, Fred and Winston.
He is survived by: his children, Valerie Matchett (Grant MacCallum) of Miramichi, Karen Richardson (Lawrence) of Miramichi, Donna Baisley of Miramichi, Lisa D'anjou (Mario) of Fredericton, Nancy Osborne (Ron) of Miramichi, Norma Matchett of Ontario, Rebecca Matchett of Miramichi, Kenny Matchett of Ontario, Roger Matchett (Ruth) of Miramichi, Wayne Matchett (Colleen) of Nelson and Stephen Matchett of Ontario; and his sisters, Minnie Baisley (late Alton) of Miramichi and Shirley Mullin (late James) of Miramichi. He is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
