Sylvia C. Durham Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia C. Durham of Miramichi, New Brunswick, who passed away on June 13, 2022, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Johan Valkanen and Lisa Valkanen (Rantonen); her former husband Perley E. Ashton; her husband Benjamin Durham; her close friend Jack Waltham; and her brothers, Sulo and Henry Valkanen.

She is survived by: her stepdaughters, Elsie Marie Girouard (Ludger) of Miramichi and Elizabeth Anne Ward (Charles) of Ontario. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
