He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Johnstone and Kathleen Johnstone (Buckley). He is survived by: his spouse Phyllis Johnstone (Power) of Morris Street; his daughter Stacey Somers (Ronnie) of Miramichi; his sister Agnes Jardine (Mike) of Fredericton; and his sisters-in-law, Patricia Power and Sharon Power. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In his memory, donations to Miramichi SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
