He is survived by: his wife Carmel Forsythe (Matchett) of Boom Road, NB; his son Michael Forsythe of Boom Road, NB; his niece Daphne McClenaghan (Leonard) of Boom Road; and his nephews, Terry Matthews (Wendy) of Whitney, NB, Eddie Matthews (Phyllis) of Whitney, NB and Ricky Matthews (Paula) of Miramichi.

As expressions of sympathy, in Merlyn's memory, donations may be made to St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church (Red Bank) General Fund or St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church Restoration Fund (Red Bank).
