She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Sutherland and Vivian Sutherland (Walsh); her husband William McKay (Bill); her brothers, Harold Sutherland and Gary Sutherland; and her grandson Garret Burton.

She is survived by: her son Douglas Burton of Moncton; her close friend Del Dupuis; her brother Fred Sutherland; her granddaughter Rachel Burton; and her stepsons, Robert McKay, David McKay and Michael McKay.
