He was predeceased by: his wife Elsie Marie (Ashton); his parents, Edmond Girouard and Clara Girouard (Ferguson); his brothers, George and Ernest; and his sisters-in-law, Jeanette Girouard, Mary Genevieve Girouard and Anne Ward.
He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Lavoie (Gordie) of Miramichi, Kevin Girouard (Yvonne) of Miramichi, Stephen Girouard of Miramichi and Roger Girouard (Andrea) of Dartmouth, NS.; his grandchildren, Jordan Lavoie (Michael), Alex Girouard (Hannah), Elyse Girouard (Kevin) and Reese Girouard (Lauren); his great grandchildren, Quinn Shannahan and Basil Girouard; his siblings, Lionel Girouard (Barb) and Myrtle Sisk (Morrill) of Miramichi; and his brother-in-law Charles Ward of St. Mary's, ON. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Northumberland Funeral Home (102 Pleasant St, Miramichi, NB E1V1X7). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church (12 St Patricks Dr, Miramichi, NB E1N5T9).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home or a memorial of one's choice.
