He was predeceased by: his wife Cathy; his daughter Jackie; his parents, Weldon Walsh and Rita Walsh; and his brothers, Paul and Elmer.

He is survived by: his children, Mary Anne Walsh (Keith Sippley) of Edmonton, AB, Tanya Walsh of Kingston, ON, Paul Walsh (Sarah Walsh) of Edmonton, AB, David Walsh of Miramichi, NB and Tom Carter (Lee Newman) of Ontario; his son-in-law Peter; his grandchildren, John, Rebecca, Isabella, Sydney, Matthew, Andy, Xavery and Ryland; his great grandchild Damien; and his siblings, Clayton Walsh of Whitney, NB, Arthur Walsh (Chad) of Halifax, NS, Brenda Walsh (Giselle) of Miramichi, NB, Rhoda Keating (Jack) of Whitney, NB and Bertha Taylor (John) of Sillikers, NB.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
