He was predeceased by: his father Earl Chestnut; his wife Sharon Chestnut (Anderson); and his sisters, Catherine Chestnut, Susan Anderson (Arnold) and Rose Mark (George).
He is survived by: his sons, David Chestnut and Jason Chestnut (Rebecca) of Moncton, N. B.; his granddaughter Elora Chestnut; and his siblings, Robert Chestnut of Miramichi, N. B., Clara Gallant of Miramichi, N. B., Patricia Chestnut of Red Deer, Alberta, Jane Dunnett (Gary) of Trout Brook, N. B., Madelene Rivard (Les) of Fort Saskatchewan and Kim Chestnut of Fort Saskatchewan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
