He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Murphy and Mildred Murphy (McCallum); his children, Judith and Charles; and his siblings, William, Ryan, Louis, Edward and Mary.

He is survived by: his wife Mae; his children, Patricia and Kevin of Miramichi; and his brother James of Mississauga, ON. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
