He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Poitras and Doris Poitras (Levesque); his brothers, Gerald (Linda) and Reid (Helena); and his mother-in-law Margaret Myles.

He is survived by: his daughter Rosalie Poitras (Otis) of Miramichi; his close friend Mary Myles of Miramichi; his grandson Alex (Kayla); his great grandchild Keegan; his grandchildren, Kayla, Emily, Sean and Hailey; and his brothers, John Poitras (Sandy) of Mexico and Adrian Poitras (late Deborah) of Montreal. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #3, New Brunswick Alzheimer's Society or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
