He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Augustine and Mary Gerome; his former wife Theresa Clair; his children, Shirley and Freeman Eugene; and his brothers, Joe Leo, Raymond, Lawrence, Walter, Thomas Joe and Vincent.

He is survived by: his wife Marie Julien of Eskasoni; his sons, Henry Augustine (Taz) of Elsipogtog, Eugene Augustine Jr. (Tabitha) of Elsipogtog, Garland Joe Augustine of Elsipogtog, Michael Augustine (Rose-Marie) of Elsipogtog, Harry Augustine (Sandra) of Elsipogtog, Thomas Augustine of Elsipogtog and Don Eagle Augustine of Elsipogtog; and his sisters, Helen, Doris, Regina and Josie. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
