He was predeceased by: his parents, William Joe and Sarah Joe. He is survived by: his children, Stacy Paul, Charlene Paul and Shaun Paul of Esgenoôpetitj; his siblings, Freda Cloud (Vincent) of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Doreen Comeau (Ronald) of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Georgina Joe of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Junita Joe of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Darlene Augustine (Donald) of Truro, NS, Willard of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Gilbert of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Harvey of Esgenoôpetitj, NB, Melvin of Esgenoôpetitj, NB and Jeffery Joe of Esgenoôpetitj, NB; and his grandchildren, Sophie, Emma, Hayden, Mikayla and Kirk. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents: Derry is predeceased by: one sister: Marlene Joe and brother: William Joe Jr. Due to Covid-19 there will be no public visitation or funeral at this time.
