He was predeceased by: his parents, Ashjörn Hansen and Margaret Hansen (McGowan); his daughter Barbara Lalonde; and his siblings, Margaret Hatheway, Lillian MacPherson, Betty Hansen, Paul and Harold.

He is survived by: his spouse Mary Hansen (Saunders) of Miramichi, NB; his children, Ellen Chisholm (Jim) of Toronto, ON and Chris (Jennifer) of Miramichi, NB; his siblings, Pauline Parks of Fredericton, NB and Ozzie (Marilyn) of Ottawa; his sister-in-law Pauline Saunders of Lower Derby, NB; his grandchildren, Krista, Becky, Alex, Jenny, Caleb and Hannah; his great grandchild Ryder; and his stepgrandsons, Sean and Gavin.
